Municipal Reading Festival

Today, the Ghana Association of Writers (GAW) joined the Ledzokuku Education Directorate for their maiden Municipal Reading Festival, sponsored by the USAID. It is under the theme: LEARN TO READ, READ TO LEARN.

Representing, and delivering a message on behalf of GAW, Mr. Sylvanus Bedzrah reiterated GAW’s commitment to the national agenda of promoting the reading habit in Ghana, thereby making Ghana a reading nation. Mr. Sylvanus Bedzrah further advised the school children to make READING their top-priority habit, since that is one of the proven ways to excel academically. “GAW has always subscribed to promoting reading in the atmosphere of fun. We (GAW) also hope to see this activity replicated in other Districts and Municipalities, and GAW will be there to support.”

Participating schools are drawn from over 20 Primary Schools in the Municipality.

Some activities of the day include Reading, Spelling Bee, Pick & Act, Poetry Recitals, Face Painting, Word Formation, Etc.
